Fortnite Festival Season 15 Beginner Guide

Fortnite Festival Main Stage is a rhythm mode where solo players or groups perform Jam Tracks by matching notes to the targets on screen. New players can begin with an easier difficulty and increase it after learning the note lanes, Overdrive system, and scoring rules.

1

Open Festival Main Stage

Select Festival Main Stage from Fortnite's Discover screen and enter the mode. You will arrive in the Backstage area before the performance begins.

Tip: You can play alone or join a party before entering.
2

Choose Your Jam Tracks

Interact with the organ inside Backstage to open the song selection menu. Add between one and four available Jam Tracks to your setlist.

Tip: Start with one or two songs so you can learn the controls without committing to a long set.
3

Select an Instrument Part

Choose Lead, Bass, Drums, or Vocals for each song. Pro Lead and Pro Bass are also available on supported tracks for players who want guitar-style fret and strum controls.

Tip: Vocals and Bass commonly provide approachable charts for a first performance, although difficulty varies by song.
4

Choose a Difficulty

Select Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert. Higher difficulties add more lanes, faster note patterns, and more complex sequences.

Tip: Use Easy or Medium until you can follow the note highway without looking down at your controls.
5

Ready Up

Confirm your selected part and difficulty, then use the Ready Up prompt. The performance begins after everyone in the party is ready.

Tip: Check your audio and input calibration before starting if notes appear out of sync.
6

Hit Notes and Build a Streak

Press the matching lane input when a note reaches the target line. Consecutive successful notes build a streak and increase your score multiplier.

Tip: Accuracy is more important than pressing buttons quickly.
7

Activate Overdrive

Hit glowing Overdrive note phrases to fill the Overdrive meter. Activate it during a strong section to increase your score and support the band's total score.

Tip: Avoid activating Overdrive immediately before a long break in your chart.
8

Complete the Set

Finish every selected song to receive your score, stars, accuracy percentage, and quest progress. Return to Backstage to select another setlist or change your instrument.

Tip: A simple first route is Vocals on Easy, Bass on Easy, and then your preferred part on Medium.

Fortnite Festival Season 15 Quests and XP Guide

The Season 15 Music Pass progresses through XP. Festival activities can award XP directly or complete quest objectives, while XP earned through other eligible Fortnite experiences also contributes to Music Pass progression.

1
Start here

Review the Music Pass

Open the Music Pass screen and review the free and premium reward tracks. Progress unlocks rewards in order as you earn the required XP.

2
Highest priority

Check Festival Quests

Open the Quests menu and select the Festival category. Look for objectives involving completed songs, earned stars, specific instruments, difficulty levels, or Festival game modes.

3
Efficient progression

Combine Compatible Objectives

Choose a song, instrument, and difficulty that can advance several quests during the same performance. A single setlist may count toward song completion, star, instrument, and score objectives.

4
Essential

Finish Complete Performances

Stay until the end of each selected song so the result screen can record your score, stars, accuracy, and completed objectives. Leaving early can prevent performance-based objectives from counting.

5
Performance focus

Improve Stars and Accuracy

Stars represent performance quality and are commonly used as Festival Quest requirements. Maintain a note streak, avoid unnecessary misses, and activate Overdrive during sections with many notes.

6
Recommended

Use Manageable Difficulties

Play on a difficulty you can complete consistently unless a quest specifically requires a higher setting. A clean Medium performance can be more useful than repeatedly failing an Expert chart.

7
Flexible option

Earn XP Across Fortnite

Continue earning eligible XP in other Fortnite experiences when you want a break from Festival. That XP can continue advancing the Music Pass without requiring every session to be played on Main Stage.

8
Ongoing

Repeat After Quest Refreshes

Return when new Festival objectives and Jam Tracks become available. Complete limited-time or seasonal objectives before permanent activities when their expiration dates are closer.

Fortnite Festival Season 15 Instruments and Controls Guide

Instrument parts do not provide combat advantages or fixed power levels. Each part uses a different chart from the same song, so the best choice depends on the track, your preferred rhythm patterns, and whether you use standard controls or a guitar controller.

Melody-focused charts featuring guitars, keyboards, synths, and other prominent instruments.

Rhythm-focused charts built around bass guitar and lower-frequency instrumental parts.

Percussion charts that follow kicks, snares, cymbals, and rapid drum fills.

Charts based on sung lyrics, vocal rhythms, and melodic phrases.

A guitar-style Lead mode that combines fret inputs with strumming.

A guitar-style Bass mode using fret buttons, strumming, and bass-focused charts.

Standard parts use mapped lane inputs, while Pro parts add fret and strum controls.

Special note types reward controlled releases, accurate strums, and well-timed Overdrive activation.

Calibration aligns the music, note highway, display, and input timing.

Compatible guitar peripherals provide dedicated fret buttons, strumming, and guitar-style controls.
